Fender Custom Shop "Club"???

My favourite Fender Custom Shop Bass is my Pino Palladino: absolutely the best playability and soundwise
the sweetest.
After that it's the 59 P CC cause I play Rock-music anytime anyplace anywhere!!
The jazz is totaly different: It's a Jazz..............so.........??!!
I save this one for other music.
The 55 P is a Goddess to play although it's set up with roundwounds you should play this babe with Thomastics..........o my god!!!
All of these of course are plugged in into one of my Ampeg rigs.

Do you play with the skirts (covers) on every time.
I just can't get used to them; i have to place my thumb on the edge of the SC pu.......

So can anyone expand on how the CS Fenders stack up? How's the build quality, finish, and especially fretwork as compared to, say, a Lakland or Sadowsky?
Here is my new Custom Shop '59 Precision Relic. It is hands down the best P bass I have owned(which inludes a Fender '62Reissue, Early 2000 MIA, 1976 vintage Fender, and a Lakland Gluab). This bass weighs only 7.5 lbs, and NAILS the vintage P bass tone. It is open, deep, and punchy. Killer bass. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a Custom Shop to anyone looking for a great feeling, great playing, vintage style instrument. In fact, I have found that many of them are better than an actual vintage Fender. Better wood, more attention to detail.
Remember: there is no discussion what sounds and play great........its all between the ears IMO.
Today Fender Custom Shop is building "Fine electric Instuments" for a fair price.
But nothing beats the original elders........
Other builders are doing a fine job aswell but
as far quality goes: there is no such thing as crappy high-end basses.
Still no Fender logo..........L.o.L.

All my Fenders always wear their chrome covers. They just feel naked without them.

Fender Custom Shops are great - thin nitro finishes, great necks, good tone. All the boutiques are great too - it's just personal preference. Lets just enjoy the pics...
