My friend borrowing my CS '70 Jazz LTD:

IMG_2843.jpg

I love both of your basses, but I have been looking for a '70 LTD litterally for YEARS and have not been able to find one........you are the first person I know of that actually has one..........if you ever decide to put it up for sale, don't hesitate to PM me........this is the ONLY CS Fender J I have EVER wanted..........I don't care if I don't have the money when you sell it, I'll sell one of my basses..........or my brain.......or whore myself out...........you know what?........maybe I'll just whore myself out...........

how about a CS that I WISH they made?

(had to make it myself. much less expensive that way)

2005 US jazz with sunset orange over ash
2007 AM P bass maple neck
'62 style stacked knob controls with sprague caps
stock bridge
Duncan Stacked hi-output humbuckers
white pickup covers and pickguard
70's style chrome neck pickup cover

I've never seen or heard another bass like this one. Its my self made signature model, lol

I tried a 51 pbass custom shop (with wood saddles!!!!!!!) and the pino palladino
The pino palladino is by far the best pbass I've ever played!!!!!
If I don't like my fodera on order, I sell it and buy a pino palladino pbass.

My ill fated 64 CS Jazz Relic in Burgundy Mist (may she RIP). This bass was used in a Bass Emporium add in the back pages of bass player magazine last year, purchased by the US Army Band for my use on a musical tour of FOBs in Iraq and Kuwait, she served honorably in many combat zones and brought entertainment to some of the most remotely stationed soldiers in Baghdad. Sadly, on her return journey back to the states, her case filled with water while sitting on an airstrip somewhere in Europe. She died of mold in her own case.

She will be missed.

Too bad Fender doesn't use quartersawn maple for all their necks.

with the exception of a couple of their NOS,CS Relic 60's P and Jazz Basses, Quatersawn is what they use for their necks, which is 1 of the main reasons I wouldn't buy any of the current Fenders that's out on the racks for the prices that they're asking, because they feel "cheap"and that's because quatersawn is a cheaper material than Rock maple which the real Fenders had

Huh?

Quartersawn is a way of cutting, not a species. It's also only found on the custom shop models from Fender, at least as far as I can tell.

Thanks for the comments guys. :) Yeah, I'm def. happy that our only casualties were in the gear department! :) The guys in my band were like, "why the hell did you get a pink bass for the desert?!", but they all shut up quickly after the first gig because a group of female soldiers came up and all gushed that it was "the hottest bass they've ever seen". Good times. ;)
