Midak, when i spec,d it out i told them i wanted the neck profile of a 66 jazz which i own and the shop took it from there. Their listing shows a 60's u shape so presume thats what its called.
Do you mean they measured your '66's neck, or just they corresponded with the specification you mentioned? What is more, is it a TeamBuilt or a MasterBuilt? (I suspect TeamBuilt.

Its kind of a cross between a teambuilt and a masterbjilt. Probably a "one of" hybrid. My dealer isgoodfriends with tom m in the customshop so i got cut some slack.

It's the best looking bass around. Now I have to make it sound great. Pretty sure I'm going w some sd quarter pounders. Anyone make that switch???That gold sparkle is KILLER!!! Love it man
I leave my basses stock electronics wise and use a Sansamp DI pedal to fine tune my sound.
Lol i guess i just want it to sound more like my warwicks!

Pardon my intrusion but could y'all offer any advice on what to look for when buying a Custom Shop bass used? I'm looking at a Fender Custom Shop 1955 Precision at an Austin-area Guitar Center (I know...) and I'm a bit concerned about the lack of any serial numbers on it, only a small Custom Shop logo on the back of the headstock, a Fender Precision Bass decal on the front of the headstock that's obviously on top of the finish and the "relicing" looks like it's "more chipped and less worn". They have a COA but it also doesn't specify a serial number (inside the tweed/orange fur case with no covers or case candy). Any words of wisdom are much appreciated!
I'm no expert and I only have one CS bass, but it does have a serial number on the neck plate and on the COA...I say buyer beware...
