Nope...it's here on Monday, which of course, feels like a another whole week away, especially since I sold my other P on Friday...first time with no bass in many many years...
yeah it seems like The Bass Place is one of a very few boutiques stateside that carry FCS basses in more interesting color combinations...as much as I dig a well sprayed 3TS, it's always good to see something different...
Question, guys...anybody else find the pricing of similar FCS model all over the map..?..it's weird to me..I'll see, let's say, a '64 Jazz in Sunburst..it might be around $3k, a LPB around $3,600 and an aged blonde at over $4,000...I've seen this in the same store in some cases..if the only difference is truly the paint, as they are being sold new, what exactly makes them believe a '60s paint job is worth the extra cash..?
CS 55 P arrived today, over a decade old but has been used with flats most of its life so frets have plenty of life left. closet classic but basically mint with some lovely checking on the nitro. Did a setup as I always do with a new bass, swapped the flats for Ernie Ball Slinky rounds............
. Put the flats back on and that old tone magic came back 
. I think they are TI flats as they have red wraps (???). Anyway, this bass certainly did not like the rounds as it all turned rather bland and lost some punch and bite. Surprised me as I have previously owned a 68 tele bass scpb that really worked with Slinkys. The difference with the flats was not minor, it was huge and really surprised me with its magnitude. Anyway, saved me a lot of cash on strings in the long run as I don't change flats.

Look at full specs - in my experience, main suspects for such "irrational at first glance" upcharges are the following options: light weight body, dark rosewood fretboard, hand-wound pickups.
Please remember to show us a picture of the CS logo on the back of the headstock when you post for membership. 
Just got my bass......kinda wanna wait until I switch pickguards to put up pics though..but it looks hotter than I thought in person and I might leave it...not sure yet...

Start to post from now - if you eventually change the pickguard, you will have "before and after" shots, which is cool; if you stay with the tort, well, you are going to post the pictures anyway. Congratulations my friend! 
I oiled the fretboard on mine two days ago with Fret Doctor - what a nice result, the rosewood is deep, smooth dark again, clean. It looks so smooth I could take a nap on it.

I'd love to see them do a neck through bass..probably has been done, but I've never seen it..
I've been wondering the same. I always wanted a neck through P with an exotic top.

I think a black one would set the gold off nicely without drawing attention from it.
Not a bad idea, but I think it ruins the 60s vibe; at least, to my eyes.
