2015 built. It's the '59 model but built to 62 specs.
I'm the second owner and I just recently double checked this. I'm just wondering because it's specially asked for in the spec sheet...
It’s always possible the original owner needed to have the neck replaced. The Reissue instruments are recreations from that time period, which means necks don’t have carbon strips like we find in the newer Fender necks. You put on a set of high tension strings like La Bella deep talking flats, and in a year to 18 months you can develop a bowed neck. This is not a given, but it can happen.
I had to have a neck replacement on my 59 for this reason. If your bass is a 59-62, it could be the neck was replaced with a slab board as that would have been the correct spec during that time. Mistakes can happen, especially if the original Shop Traveler is not on hand.
For example, I sent my 59 back to the CS for a neck replacement. My 59 was originally an NOS but I had reliced the body. This created a bit of confusion as the CS accidentally built a reliced neck for my bass. Then they saw my NOS tuners...
They then had to make a second NOS neck for my bass! I heard later they were not happy. Anyway, pure speculation but it could go to explain why you do not have a laminated board.

Well, I have been gassing for a Jazz Bass for a while and just pulled the trigger on this one. Excited to join the club!
Can anyone confirm when/whether Fender released these custom shop '60s Relic P basses? I looked at the custom shop back catalog online and couldn't see anything with this label/name. Just confirming the authenticity of this bass. Also the dots look white not clay, is this normal for a reissue?

Looks authentic to me. PM the seller to get the actual serial number and send an email to Fender Custom Care to verify and get a shop floor traveller. Looks like a good price and nothing initially that would scare me off.
You could also have the seller remove the pickguard and you should see the word “RELIC” stamped in the body. Have them get a pic of the solder joints and dates stamped on the pots, if you want to confirm everything is original.

The only thing possibly added by the owner is the hootenanny strap button on the back of the headstock.
Don't worry at all about CS catalogues; they offer some "collection" models and everything else is custom-order.
What is more, the more whitish dots are ok - they started to offer dark clay ones on Relics and Heavy Relics quite recently.

It looks authentic but I would ask for the serial number and double check with the Fender CS. Looks like a great price. Let us know how it goes.
Fender Custom Care should give you a much better idea of the authenticity and how the model was originally spec’d (including the headstock strap button, which you can spec).
