Fender Custom Shop Club

@soong The neck looks quartersawn, which is what is used on custom shop models. The only thing that looks a little odd to me is the sunburst finish. The sunburst shape/pattern seems correct but the red seems so dense to me. Although photos of sunburst can be all over the place color-wise depending on the lighting and camera. I think reds and sunburst are the most difficult finishes to photograph.

Ok guys thanks for your input. If you haven't been following, I've been eyeing out a local CS P that's popped up but I thought I had some reasons to be suspicious. The seller has provided some images of the body/neck joint. Seller has provided serial no., and the numbers look like they line up with the body & neck and the 'RELIC' is engraved in both joints. Does this all look ok, before I pull the trigger on it? It'd be my first custom shop bass.

It all looks good.
You can email Fender CS and ask for the Shop Floor Traveler of this serial number, to see if everything matches.
Check the serial number on the plate with the one at the Certificate of Authenticity, too. I think you'll be ok.

The red is correct, you can see identical finishes to plenty of sunburst CS instruments.

I see it has been sold; are you the buyer? I'd say it was legitimate; I don't see someone going to the trouble of faking the certificate and other case items plus the neck markings for that price. Wouldn't seem logical. Like the money counterfeiters, no sense going to all the trouble just to fake a one dollar bill.
