Ive had both, the Sadowsky definitely feels more royal, but I`ll say this. When I turn up to a gig with the custom shop, people look and might say " nice Fender ", when I turn up with the Sadowsky they`ve said " holy hell, a Sadowsky !! "

Fender Custom Shop vs Sadowsky Metro

Hey, so, how well known are Sadowskys in NZ? Our daughter, son in law, and grand son just moved to Wellington. We figure to start spending substantial time there. I may end up leaving my Metro down there, if there are any gigs to be had.

Absolutely. They are actually just different basses. The vintage J's do one thing; Sadowskys do another. I yo yo back and forth on a regular basis. Hi, music scene very alive here in NZ, gigs every weekend if you want BUT you have to know the contacts and be prepared to slog out some lowish paying bar gigs for a while until the better paying privates come up.
I`m the only one I`ve seen using one, probably lots around though, just don't see them on the bar circuit a lot, probably too paranoid to take them out lol.
I have both a CS 64 and Metro RV4.
Equal quality. The Metro sounds intense. I love the tone. It is the Sadowsky tone. It isn't really a Jazz tone. For that sound, I have the CS Jazz.
If I had to choose one, it would be the Sadowsky, by a hair. Just because of its great practicality. Both just play themselves. Amazing playability on both.
