Fender Dimension Bass Club

...along with a Stingray 5, & Nash PB63. My favorite ?... don't have one. Admittedly the Nash is becoming a second-stringer... the sounds of the MM & Dimension are just overwhelming... both "HH", and both capable of a huge bottom end with a percussive tacky upper end punching the delivery. Absolutely the creamiest yet aggressive sound combo (along with my MarkBass P121J) that I could ever hope for.

[/CENTER]Straight from my local dealer... to the F150... to the gig... what a bass !.... like another Stingray on steroids and just as playable (even lighter in weight !).... I LOVE this bass.

YUP! That is it.

From what I understand and someone PLEASE calibrate me if I am wrong... Chinese made is the lower price point, The Mexican is the mid range and the American is the expensive one.

The American and Chinese both have the truss rod access notch... The Mexican one does not. Interesting huh?

You are absolutely correct, if the pictures on the Sweetwater website can be trusted. It appears there are 3 versions of the Dimension. The Modern Player series, crafted in China, the Deluxe Dimension series, made in Mexico, and the American Deluxe Dimension series, made in the USA. Odd that the truss rod adjustment on only the Deluxe series is up at the head stock. The pricing also appears to match your observations.

ONCE in a blue moon when all the planets align and the earth is in the right position... I make a correct observation... enjoy it while you can... it will probably never happen again ;)

I'm wondering too if these pickups will ever be sold separately as I wouldn't mind adding a 2nd one up by the neck.

Let me in with a number please! Finally, a club where I can get a number less than 5000! Got this American Deluxe Dimension IV in Violin Burst, in early November 2013 from a music store in Canada. Just recently broke it out to start playing. After all the negative publicity I read on this forum I was worried. I was also worried about the neck and P Bass nut due to my small hands. However, the asymmetrical C-shape neck is as advertised--it feels great in my hands. I really dig the overall feel and weight of this bass, which actually seems lighter than my Fender Select Jazz. The sound options are great too--I agree with others that this is not the Stingray growl, but I wasn't really looking for a Stingray, you know. I don't have one of these, but I did get to play all 3 models at one of my local GCs. I really really liked the feel and playability of the lower end Chinese Modern Player. Only things I didn't like about it was that only 2 of the 5 tone settings seemed like ones I would ever use, and it drives me crazy when a headstock doesn't match the body or the board. I even went back to pick it up or at least put a layaway deposit on it, but in the end couldn't justify it since my main bass is a really awesome Spector. However, if I come into a used one for the right price that feels as good, I would probably pull the trigger. Glad that you guys are enjoying yours so much!

May be hitting the cart button on the Modern Player version as a cheaper low end bass to throw in a gig bag for rehearsals.

Been strictly a P Bass and Jazz Bass Guy for the last 8yrs after getting away from active neck thru basses.

The video reviews for the $499 Bass sound good...a few 'negative experiences', But from what I hear, it maybe a good choice...Agreed?

I play in two bands that do Oldies, Motown, and Funk.

You may want to try one out at your local music store first. I play in a classic rock band, and was not able to get a tone that fit very well. It should work well for funk, but you may find that for oldies and Motown, it may lack a bit in the low end thump. It's got a nice Jazz-like neck, but the sound is quite bright. Your milage may vary.

I just got this setup today. This is the first instrument I've ever owned. :hyper:

My buddy sent me home with his acoustic bass in December because he needed a bass player with his acoustic bluegrass group. I learned pretty quickly and found another band I now play with couple times a month at old folks homes.

I know it's a bit much for a first timer, but I got permission from the wife and a little $$ help from the guys I play with.

She feels great, probably only going to need some minor setup adjustments.

I put Rotosound Tru Bass 88s on, as I love to mimic the double bass sound and it goes well with the acoustic instruments I play with.

Anybody think that small area on the Ash Body is a big deal? I love the character of the grain, just curious if something like that under the finish is supposed to be OK?

I took the advice...I unwrapped slowly, methodically and with oh such care....it was saweeeeeet.

Can I get a number?

I love the natural with the maple neck! I also have the same amp :)

NICE! You have the Dimension model I want when I can finally afford one. Gotta love a maple board with a natural ash body! I own the "CL" (100-watt) version of your Ampeg "mini-fridge". I'll bet yours sounds great through the 200-watt amp head.

I am currently on the lookout for a matching cabinet for mine, since I keep hearing about the latest trend towards "stacking" two 2 X 10s to get a sound that rivals many 4 X 10s.

Just gotta add that I was looking for a Ray34 and this one came across so I decided to give it a try ... just fell in love with it! there was that something when playing it that felt really good :p I just tought that I found my sound with that bass, Just love it!
