Fender Flea Jazz Bass

I was looking on the website to pick some specs for my 60's style jazz bass. I've always liked the look of a black one, red tort pickgaurd and rosewood board.

Then I saw this!!!! Now I'm torn.... It hits all my buttons. And if any of fenders recent offerings are an indication, it will be a stellar bass. Damnit!!!

For $1200 they could at least include a sticker to put on it ;)

But really... I love this look. I just don't love Fender's ability to relic instruments. Now an MJT shell pink, stacked knob Jazz Bass? I'd buy that. (But won't because I already have plenty of basses I built from parts that I won't be able to sell). Even if it just had a standard nitro finish, I'd be down. It's been years since I've had a J.

Just sent by a pal at summer NAMM

Yes true, all prices have gone up, sometimes in surges. When american standards shot up from $700 to a grand for instance, and now they are $1300.

But $1199 for MIM seems a new landmark... That would have been the fair price had Japan still been in operation I think.

That wall ain't gonna happen, and if it does, better start building that underground bunker!
$1300? The're over $2000 in Canada, now. :(

$1199 is the Artist series. The Standards are still $600US/$800CA

These are now available in Europe (I think they are a European launch first before the US release). Some guys in basschat have been discussing them and by all accounts they are a quality bass. They are actually less expensive than the other RW basses for sale from dealers in the UK just now!
