It's not adjustable, but I think it's very good as it hasn't been a problem. I have jumped between the usually differing scale length URBs as well as 30 and 34 inch fretless bass guitars -- as long as you're playing with your ears connected to your fingers rather than your eyes, it's all good IME.

I bought a Godin fiver by mail several years ago and immediately disliked and returned it, though I can't remember all the specifics. I do recall the response being very uneven at the bridge, and the way it felt... well, it just wasn't for me. But that of course doesn't mean they're all that way or it isn't for you.

The Fender is sweet, and I modified it since the piezo bridge is unbuffered; the internal preamp only affects the mag pickup but the tone control affects both. I modified and installed a K&K Sound Dual Channel Preamp, with the little three band EQ trimmers for each channel accessible through holes from the back, for preset response.

i saw "Great Plains" perform on ED. TV several years ago. Bass player had a Godin 5 er..don't think it was fretless. They did a cover of Tobacco Road..they changed keys.. employed the B string..sounded awesome.

I recall seeing a similar bass to your Fender A/ E .. had 'fuzzy' strings on the fretless..never saw another Fender A/E fretless or fuzzy strings before or since.

.. THANKS! I'll look into that..maybe it was Franklins wish too! ..Well...almost my dream..I LOVE that it's P-J...I don't want the d- extender..no worries..glad it ..my dream..sort of.. is available.


Slightly off topic..I played a Squier 'jaco jr'..with ebonol board and flats.. played like it was sprayed with WD-40..and that was with crappy in-store high action.

They were likely Invalid Link Removed that came stock on that fretless, now discontinued.

Well I've been looking around on eBay and Warmoth and I think I've got my "someday" project planned out-

Loaded Fender American Standard Precision V Body in Black- $570
Warmoth Unlined Maple Fretless 5-String Neck- $315

Less than $900 and I have a "Custom Shop" unlined fretless Black n' Maple 5-String Precision :eek:

Someday!
