Jeff Allen reportedly signed and numbered the first 50 of each bass option (Mahogany & Wine Red stained P's and Mahogany & Wine Red Jazzes). There were supposedly 150 of each made (600 total). Therefore 200 would be signed & numbered.

Fender FSR P basses??

Jeff Allen reportedly signed and numbered the first 50 of each bass option (Mahogany & Wine Red stained P's and Mahogany & Wine Red Jazzes). There were supposedly 150 of each made (600 total). Therefore 200 would be signed & numbered.
But are these American Series basses or some sort of close relative made down the road in the temp factory? Or what? That different logo on these suggests they are different in some way. I don't understand where they have cut costs so these can be sold for £300 / $450 less than a normal American Series Precision or Jazz? Something must be changed?
The ones shown in this thread are American Standard. The headstock logo is the same as on the regular ones. The only diffenrence is the mahogany or wine red hand stained ash body, everything else is standard American Standard.

The Fender site looks like they are offering this finish again for the Jazz. Hrrrrrm? I don't see the same finish for the P though. I wonder if they just make "so many" a year? A run of 150 a year is not a lot. I would seriously have to consider picking one up if that were the case.

Yes, it's strange. The other 3 types were only listed on fender.com for a few weeks, whereas this one has stayed put. But it's not listed and can't be ordered from any dealer site, atleast not in my area.
Yeah. I do like this finish a lot. I think it is easily my favorite fender finish. It is just kinda lane that it seems to be elusive and exclusive. Lol.
