OK, here we go. 1983 57 RI, 82 pots, 83 pups, 83 body, early 82 neck. 8lb 11oz All original. Second owner purchased in 89 from original owner. Person I purchased from switched to banjo and quit playing bass. . Played in the Boston New Wave scene in the 80s hard and put away in 98.
Really nice player. Stoked.

1983 was a good year!..Solid instrument, perfect in every way. Great tone, with treb at 75%-80%, sounds killer. All original cept' the white 1ply pg. I replaced with blk 80's era pg. She was $430 w/HSC in 85'.

Great find at an excellent price . This one was part of the ‘Standard Series’ range , by all accounts your white single ply pickguard was the original along with white pickup covers .

Just joined the club )) made a dedicated NBD thread for it but here’s some eye candy for my Fullerton friends

Hanging up my hat and quitting my gc.com used section habit. Life’s too short to scour for deals and hidden gems.

they had this listed as a 1997 “v-serial” CIJ PB62. Manager even said “yeah we ran neck/pocket pics by our vintage dept….” No case candy except the bridge cover. OHSC with the duck foot pull tab.

Quirky as my V003### neck plate serial lines up with some 82 necks, this one is an early 83.

5pc body ! Ha! 8.4lbs, on the heavier side for these. No matter, she rips and growls.

Hey Fender Fullerton RI crew - I could use better trained eyes than my own in assessing this listing. Does this bass pass the 'sniff test?' Do all parts (except pickguard as disclosed) appear original? Original case? Thanks in advance for any input!

I thought so too, but those stamps can be pretty hard to read.

I’m going with a 199xs body given the stamp and the serial on the plate with a 1982 neck slapped on.

I could be wrong but it sure looks like an 82 neck on a 99 body.

haven’t seen any neck pockets with a big 62 stamp either. Pass!

I was looking at that one too. Seems really off. I've never seen a Fullerton neck with a stamp. They all have pencil dates. The case is also not an original Fullerton case. It would have the duck foot leather pull on the accessory door. I'm staying far away from that bass!

is there a hump? i don't see any hump. is the neck a '92? is there a typo in the listing and the bass is actually a '92 corona instead of an '82 fullerton? is the seller clueless? so many questions about this listing.

obtw, serial # v063405 indicates a '92 corona build.

geez, for $4k, i'd consider selling my legit '83 fullerton r.i., the one i thought i'd never part with ~

Also, Hector Montes worked on Fender necks in the 90s. This one's a total fraud. Ugh.

it looks like a genuine '92 to me. nothing i see indicates it's a fullerton r.i.

For $3795 there should be no doubt. This one stinks IMO.
