Didn't mean to confuse you with the comment about the speaker cab impedance.
The mention of impedance was simply that whatever the ohmage is on that speaker cab, both amps need to be set to whatever that is. 2,4,8 ?? The 100t has an impedance switch on it to match the amp with the cab. You are saying that your Bandmaster doesn't? It should be an easy thing to look up. And you don't know what the ohm rating is on your current custom cab? You have TWO 12s in there? I'd say 4 ohms is most likely.
But if the rating is different from the 410, the amp would also need to have its speaker setting changed in addition to the A/B switch being flipped.
And terms of wattage... 40 watts from a TUBE amp is HUGE! TUBE watts are not equal in volume to solid state watts. My VOX AC30 is 30 watts, and that thing is LOUD!! Hell! My AC15 is 15 watts and that thing can move pictures on the wall if I crank it up. Way too loud for playing in a normal size sitting room or music room. So I really wouldn't concern yourself with the Bandmaster having enough power to drive any NEO cab Fender makes.
The fact that you are skeptical about the 100t and 410 cab being viable for serious guitar amplification makes me really wish I could be in the same room with you the first time you run your Jazzmaster through your "100t/410 Neo Bass Rig"!! lol!
You should Google Fender Bassman as a guitar amp. It's actually used by a lot more well known players than you think. The 100t is kind of the Creme del a Creme of the Bassman lineage, so it would be that much more impressive for guitar applications than its ancestors.
Anyway... Just passing through here right now, so not enough time to comment further on your recent reply...
Let me just say that I think having a "aesthetically matching" FENDER cab to go with your Bandmaster and hopefully eventually a Bassman 100t, would be the Cherry on Top for what I believe would be an awesome sounding TUBE RIG for both your bass AND guitar collection. One of the few instances where one size DOES fit all!
(With OBVIOUS tone control changes to the pre-amp for one or the other of course!)
