What’s the purpose?Does anyone know if there is a thread about pickups in the MIJ basses. I should have a jb62 (1989 or 1990) that got US pickups from the factory. Will prob need a rewind on the bridge pup so wondering if I will be able to ID the pickups.
What’s the purpose?
AFAIK the US pickups on the MIJ's were never marketed as period correct US 62 RI pickups, just as US made pickups. The only MIJ bass that has '62 US RI pickups is the Duck Dunn signature Precision, but in this case, they were marketed as such, although the P bass was kind of a '57 reissue.well, to identify the pups as US 62RI pickups and original to the bass as they should be. Then get a rewind to original spec on the bridge pickup.
If it seems they aren’t original I will probably just replace the one or maybe even both.
