Fender Japan serial numbers complete

Thank you very much for your answer. I forgot to say that the pickups have been changed for fender noiseless ones.
The offer that I've been proposed is to change it for a Warwick Thumb BO 5 that I m selling.
Do you think it worth it?
Well I’ve never played a Warwick Thumb Bolt on, but for reference I sold my MM with the East pre, 75 Ri pickups, and hard shell case for $1050 shipped.

If the Warwick is around $1000 trade value I would say it would be a fair swap.

Thank you very much for this answer. It really helps me taking the decision.
I paid 600 euros for the Warwick, so the swap seems fair.
Besides I live in an island where I will not find much buyer for it.

I'm going to do the trade. Thank you very much for your help.

You may want to even that out with some cash, the Thumb BO 5 is definitely worth more.

:roflmao: I'm not stealing the guy, as he is the one who told me the whole story of this Warwick. As I said before, I live in an island and music scene is small. We know each other.
So I'll take the MM Jazz without running .... ;)
The MM Jazz is a great bass, I had one for a little while but decided it was too heavy for me. But I play an 11lb Thumb - so go figure :)

Sounds like a good trade.

does anyone know of this is a genuine, real japanese fender marcus miller (or a bachus lookalike / fake?)

I can see the serial numbers clearly but its really strange it doesn't have any Made in Japan stamp. Fender Japan ALWAYS put Made in Japan or Crafted in Japan. The serial number is also very strange. Fender Japan never use the "s/n" for serial number. They use the whole words "SERIAL NUMBER". Are you sure its Japanese? Perhaps Mexican (sorry but I'm not familiar with MIM).

One more thing, Bacchus Japan released a few exact copies of Marcus Miller Signature. There could be a slim chance the logo was replaced.

It’s real. I had a B serial number as well. I was never able to confirm the actual date of manufacture, but I believed it to be from 2006-2009. It was my main player for 9 years. The Japanese Fender S/N were a bit wonky when they switched over factories.

Here was from a few years back from an earlier post I made.

No.

I had a B serial number Marcus Miller and it came up as a 1984 SN. It had Made In Japan on the head stock only.

It was 100% legit.

This site says that the serial B008440 > is from 1985/1986:
