Guys, I need a new 4 string jazz (need... RIGHT!) I want a used one that's MIA. I'm on the Original, Select and AVRI train, but I want to be lightweight. There's also the new lightweight ash on the horizon.

Fender 62 Reissue (AVRI) JAZZ BASS
Fender American Select Jazz Bass (2012)
Fender American Original 70s Jazz Bass
Fender USA Geddy Lee Signature Jazz Bass
Fender 1975 Reissue (AVRI) Jazz Bass
Fender Lightweight Ash American Professional Jazz Bass

I'm leaning towards one of the three 70's models listed, but those Selects from a few years back look amazing with their blocks!

Thanks in advance!

20181017_093624.jpg My '74 AVRI is the lightest jazz I've ever had...to the point is was a neck diver. Hipshot Ultralites and a Kickass bridge solved that. It's about 8lbs. I voted for the '75 AVRI.

Big 70's jazz bass fan here.

If I had the coin to drop on a new jazz, it'd be the Geddy Lee - no question.

Fancy tuxedo colour scheme {MOP scratch-plate instead of white} - bound maple board with MOP blocks - thicker neck profile than the MIM Geddy Lee - Reverse long shaft tuners - custom Geddy Lee pickups in the 70's position - four bolt neck.

THE jazz bass IMO

Whatever you decide to get...enjoy it in good health

It has to be Fender?

There is also an existing American Professional limited edition Jazz with a roasted ash body. I’ve seen one in real world and it was super light. Otherwise regular Am Pro jazz specs, and slightly less expensive than lightweight ash mentioned in your poll.
