As a signature model for Japanese Bass player Hama Okamoto from Okamoto's.
It seems like that it is sold only for Japan? Street price is 143,550 Yen = $1305.

Now THAT is a good clean tone!If you just added some bristles to the bottom you'd have a nifty broom!

A matching headstock or headless version of this with 24 frets would be super cool!
Seriously, though - Why won't Fender do matching headstocks or 24 frets??
Exactly.I agree, especially about matching headstock. This bass is for show as much as function, so why not show off all the way to the headstock. And only pink, white, and black, well, that's pretty typical Fender, not so much typical Fender Japan though.
Pick guard Should’ve been a different shapeThe pick guard is new.
yea, it's goofy lookin'Pick guard Should’ve been a different shape

You were expecting that from Fender?Dang, no my cup of tea. I was expecting something tasteful. Something like this:

It's a replica of his personal bass.Exactly.
A crazy bass like this deserves crazy finishes...lime green, canary yellow, orange, purple metal-flake. etc.
Well, at least they didn't go with Vintage Burst.
As for the headstock, they missed the mark by not having matching headstocks.
I expect boring colors from Fender, but not from Fender Japan.
The bridge cover looks ridiculous, too.
They should've went with their high-mass bridge.
I thought his Katana was black with no pickguard. It's a replica of his personal bass.
That's why it is what it is![]()
