Fender or wal

I voted Fender. Only because I can't find a bass better than the Fender I have. And yes I have tried a Wal.

It is so funny to read someone else say this. I too have had Spectors, Rics, Gibsons, Steinbergers, Musicmans (Musicmen?) never a Wal ... alas, but I cannot stick with them. I always always always go back to my Fenders. In fact now I only own a Fender P, J and P/J. And, I feel satiated.

Dingwall. Kidding aside, I haven't made a decision yet. I was very much leaning towards the wal, but then the price increase came earlier this year and then I looked into the conversion rate, shipping and all that fun stuff and it was quite a shock. I gravitated towards the mk2 With birdseye maple facings and an ebony fingerboard, but the mk2 alone was $8000 and its an upcharge for the facings and ebony board. You could always say "you get what you pay for" but I don't know what im getting with a wal. I could go anywhere and play a Fender and I know exactly what I'd be getting from a fender, but i don't think I could spend roughly 8k on something I dont even know if I'd like.

just FYI too...from when you first started this thread, Wal increased their prices slightly earlier this year......prob will increase again in another 7-8 months from what i gather.
