Fender MIA precision bass

Better get a saddle adjustment screw and spring on there pronto, or you're gonna lose that saddle! Can't imagine how it stayed in there this long. Weird. But, it does look like a US neck with an assortment of parts under it. Certainly worth a few hundred!

Fair enough! I agree these fakes are horrible, and you are fighting them one at a time.

The tuners are mexican tuners as well.
The only things MIA are the decal and the s/n. My guess is that it is a MIM bass

Fair enough! I agree these fakes are horrible, and you are fighting them one at a time.

I just think it's kind of funny/sad. People don't see an issue with putting Fender stickers on non-Fenders, and then they get all upset when there are so many phony Fenders out there.

The neck is MIA. The body and everything on it are not MIA.

If the finish is kind of a candy apple purple it could be a mid 90's, (I didn't date the serial #) they did that finish for a while.

The body color and knobs look very close to a Squier Affinity Precision that I have. I don't have it nearby at the moment, so I can't be sure, but the sure ring some bells for me.

That is a USA neck.

A-Step is probably right, but out of curiosity, try unscrewing one of the machine heads. If it's actually an American Series P neck, there will be the two guide holes underneath for the posts from the original tuner.

Otherwise, Stealth Fighter is probably right, because nothing else on that bass is (for the period).

I unscrewed the neck and it had two dates. On the base of the neck it had oct 12 2002 and on the neck it said January 24 2013. So I'm guessing it's an American neck. On the body I really couldn't make out anything other than a couple of green marks. But yeah it sure does look like a squire judging from that picture.

I had a MIM Jazz from 2002 with that exact same color. I believe it is "midnight blue". Have not seen that color on an American bass. Neck certainly looks American, and probably worth more than $200.

It certainly looks midnight blue to me. But I don't know about the knobs. Look like squire knobs but I'm not sure how much knobs vary from product to product

Lucas, I pretty much quit ... you either get an argument or everybody keeps speculating once you clear it up accurately ...

Other than it needs a new (and better) bridge it "looks" fine for what he paid. An American neck on a MIM (or whatever) body should play fine. After replacing the bridge if the bass sounds good your all set. Pickup replacement only if you feel the need.
