Here is a pic with the serial number.Serial number?
My guess is it's an American Fender neck on a non-American Fender body.

Yah, that purplish blue looks like a pretty common MIM color to me.This, or the body was MIA during the 80’s. Though, I don’t remember seeing that color before on a Fender. Neck serial number and pot codes would be handy to help date this.

the missing screw on the D string is driving me crazy, also the rounded knobs are a red flag
I'm really not a bass person. I play bass, but I am an acoustic guitar fingerpicker. I am limited in Fender bass knowledge. I tried it out, the neck feels great, and it sounds great. But was not convinced it was a genuine Fender for some reason. But for a couple hundred bucks I took a shot at it.
What screw is missing precisely? Don't know that much about Fenders and would like to know, thanks!the missing screw on the D string is driving me crazy, also the rounded knobs are a red flag
This might be splitting hairs, but the labels on the headstock are, for all intents and purposes, original. Looks like you need to include Franken-Fenders in your rants now, too.Gee - two whole days since the last "is this a real Fender" thread.
Yep yep, you know what I am going to say... Nothing wrong with those phony labels...
