Fender MIM Club Photos

Nice bass ^ man... throw some aftermarket pups in there... you wont be sorry. Even if you just get some "vintage" wound pups. The SD "Hot" pups I put in mine make the thing a monster without losing the stock sound.
Actually I'm VERY happy with the stock sound. The Post-2001 pickups are just what I'm looking for in a bass to offset my bright, zingy Marcus Miller Jazz.

The only mod I'm looking to do is throw a P-bass neck on there. Jazz necks are just a bit too skinny for me to play comfortably for long periods.

I want to be in the MIM club so bad, I am going to subject everybody to this really really bad webcam picture :p The sad thing is it took me quite a while to get it looking this good :hmm:

In real life the bass is a very good looking natural. I have much more information about the bass here: Invalid Link Removed. And yes, the Chromes I put on in early 2005 are still there. Although with the demise of the rock band, this bass is not getting much use.

One question, I listed the bass as ash, but I am not sure. Anybody know a good way to tell ash from alder?

Poor picture, but here is my MIM P. Getting it refretted with stainless steel frets at the moment, and once its back I might well add a badass 2 and then maybe route out for a reverse P pup at the bridge, or a MM pup.

So, what number am I? :hyper:

Ignore the Conklin, it's MIK. But it's my main bass, I love it!

Mine is in the shop having a custom made tort lefty guard made up.

Its an 06 Jazz lefty, in sunburst. I installed a BadAssII, had the series/parrallel mod done with push/pull tone control and replaced the stock pickups with the 62 Jazz reissue (Geddy) pickups which sound really good.

The new pickguard will replace the stock white one which didnt fit right around the control plate.

Pic will follow when I get it back. It sure plays nice and is a heavy beast!

Its Yuri from Dirty Pair Flash - never seen the show myself but read the original Dirty Pair Manga years ago. I'm gonna put Kei from DPF on my G&L when I can actually afford to buy it! I like personalising basses like this... I feel more attached to them for some reason :smug:

^ how many MIM's do you have?? jeeze. mines getting a BAII next week!!! thanks a bundle robert(FREE) schwing!
This'll be #2, at the moment.

My first MIM was a Y2K Precision in Midnight Wine. Converted it into a Billy Sheehan wife clone and took an offer for $800.

My 2nd was a Y2K fretless, which I sold here in a fit of financial trouble to Lorenzini, who later sold it to Jazzin'.

My 3rd MIM is a black Strat. Still have that, but not posting because it's a GEEEE-tar.

My 4th MIM is a black Jazz I picked up for $319 brand new.

The newest is a Sunburst fretless I got on eBay for a nice price. Couldn't pass it up and have the itch to go fretless again.

It'll be my 3rd Jazz in the stable.

Got my 2006 MIM Fretless Jazz (in Midnight Wine) today, and I like it. :hyper:

Needs some tweaking (the truss rod and action) but otherwise it's really sweet. The neck is smooth and the finish is solid. Seems like I got a "good" Fender. :D

Surprisingly, I even got it sounding pretty good, considering this is my first fretless. It might have helped that I stared the fretboard like a hawk when I played, though. But, more practice is needed. It feels that I'll probably be a better and more accurate player after some weeks & months.

Photos of this one (and the first "family" photo) coming tomorrow. It's almost 2 am up here, and I've been playing for the past two hours.

I have a fretless. Cool. :D
