Fender Mustang Bass

My RI Mustang is my go to bass these days. As much as I dig my MIA Jazz, a shoulder problem keeps me from playing it for long sessions. The Mustang is light, comfortable, and produces a P-ish sound that really thumps through my current rig (Roland D-Bass 115 combo).

I like it so much, in fact, that I'm keeping my eyes open for a another to use as a back-up.:bassist:

Average White Band - '70s funk band - much ripped by today's samplers/rippers - loads of their stuff played on a Mustang. They were guitarist doubling on bass and the Mustang was the ticket- take a listen - great tone and appropriate intricacy when the song calls for it.

i love you man

I love you too...? o_O :p

It's one of the Reissues. Obscured by a guitard:

That's a Mustang on that album??? I've always loved the bass sound in "Everybody's World"!!!

Yes! I interviewed Jason back when the CD came out and I was entertainment editor for a newspaper. I specifically asked him about the bass sound because there is a picture of a Guild bass on the CD booklet. He told me he used the Mustang. Jason is a very inventive bassist (checkout "Bellybutton" by Jellyfish) and was a wonderful interview.
