Yep, I'm going to get one in Oly White.
Oh HELL yeah! I'd be MUCH more interested in that Squier if I were in the market for a Mustang, especially since it doesn't have that superfluous Jazz pickup.
Ooooooh, I think I want that Squier...like I need another bass. THANKS A LOT @mbell75 ! 
Why do you think they're coming in September?
And the Squier Vintage Modified Mustang was $279.99 new and had a string through body. So I'm not surprised about that part at all.

I was about to pull the trigger on a Vintera, now you save me some serious $$$... Going for it, definitely worth the wait.

It is all done! The Grover's are in place, the fret edges on the treble side are smoothed and polished and a complete setup has been performed all by a luthier. I can fine tune it. Sounds great and I am not cutting my left fingers runningup and down over those sharp frets. As you can see there are 2 screw holes somewhat showing but as a wise man once said "I really don't care". Ok enough from me. Here are a few shots.

Nice! As I’ve said before, the tuners are the weak point of the MIM PJs. And the selector switch. I’m going to try Hipshots on mine, though Grovers are nice too.
I have never had any issues with the stock tuners. They hold tuning, and work smoothly. I can understand if someone wants to find a bit of weight savings for balance issues.
It very well maybe due to my physical limitations caused by the Severe RA and the varying degrees of numbness on my left side due to the strokes I encountered 5 years ago that I have this difficulty with the stock tuners.
I agree that this does not appear to be a common issue brought up except in the neck dive problem that comes up now and then. These Grovers while a slight bit lighter than the original, were not the reason for the change. It was the chatter and sticking making the FINE tunning a real difficulty causing intonation almost impossible for me and me alone. I believe in my almost 3 years on TB I have read only 2 posts that were somewhat close to my set of circumstances. But if knowing there is a solution out there can help even one other individual continue to do what they love to do then I will be very pleased.
I chose my words very carefully in this response as I agree that this is a fairly rare occurance and solutions have not been very deeply explored because of this rarity. Neck dive has been explored greatly and should be. It is extremely irritating.
Lastly the main stumbling block I ran into was if headstock would have enough wood to accommodate this modification and so far so good. Now we know what can be done with such a oversized headstock. This by no means is a magical fix for all ills but just a reccomedation of which there very few for the, shall we say, physically challanged bass player to return to the fold.
I hope this clears the waters a bit as to my reasoning for this upgrade and I sincerely hope no offense has been taken because none was intended.
