Thanks!! I toyed with the idea of going stacked pots and different pickups before going this route. I was using this bass on the road this summer(mostly when flying), and I just didn't want the switch failing. I like the stack pot idea far more than having a switch in there. Maybe that is the route to go...

There is a suggestion that my band tours a wee bit of Europe next year, so I want my Mustang to be toughened up by then. No switch dying on me in the wilds of Belgium.

VVT and some ugly drilling might be the safest bet.

I would do a Side Jack and do Volume, Blend, Tone. That's what I do on my jazz bass, my Epiphone Embassy Pro, and a PJ being built.

I added a Bourns Mini Blend pot, moved the jack to the side, put in a Bareknuckle '58 P-Pup and a Fender Hi Mass Bridge ... very happy with it. Blend is ace for finding the 'sweet spot' and you still have a single volume pot for overall levels ...

Just added an Am Performer to the mix too ...

That is the bass that started this sordid business for me. The '62 Jazz-style knobs look good on there!

This is my VVT option brought to life, and I like it! It doesn't look too unnatural or weird.

I see that both of you went for high mass bridges!

Almost finished with *this* refin/build... not sure it qualifies for the Mustang club but thought some may like a look-see

Repaired/refinished a damaged Bronco body... added a (P/J) Mustang neck- Hipshot (17mm) bridge- 3 ply pg w/Mustang wiring harness...
Awaiting a custom Nordstrand ‘51 pickup w/17mm spacing! Here it is- sans pickup

I got a 1/2 scale, which is really short scale. It's the Samick Greg Bennett Corsair MCR-1. It's still back-ordered so I won't receive it until November.

First of all sorry for the crappy pics!

I found this special edition Mustang PJ in a shop in a small town in central Italy. It was brand new.

May I have a number please?

This is apparently the CME exclusive special edition and as far as I know it should read Special Edition on the back of the headstock, however this is not shown on this bass.
Any of you had a chance to have a similar bass without the Special Edition mark on the back of the headstock?

And, considering it as a little investment, I would like to read opinions about how much this bass might become a collectable item.

In the meantime I enjoy playing it, it's perfect, I only swapped strings for Daddario ECB81S short scale flats and put Fender strap locks, everything else is all stock, switch works fine with no scratches and I find both pickups with nice tone and volume. No neck dive either.

Maybe I was just lucky...

Very nice! I am not sure how collectible it will be. Unique for sure. The PJ's are a fantastic value, and definitely worthy of being a pro level gigging bass.
