If anyone here owns a vintage 'stand who is able to measure the screw it would be appreciated

Here is a pic with measurements of my '66 Mustang Bass intonation screws. I include the width under springs (also for the headless height adjuster screw) and lengths measured from the top of screw head to far side of the barrels. Hope this helps you or if you need another measurement; have caliper, will travel.

Someone asked about the thickness of a vintage bridge plate. My 1966 measures 0.062 inches.
Our 2019 60s Vintera plate measures 0.065 inches, so pretty close to the original.

Thanks guys, I have ordered some 6-32 screws with 2" length so I'll have a little more wiggle room. Fingers crossed they fit (I posted a thread in repairs/technical where a member said they were 6-32 as well). Like @Mr66StangBass mine are very much at the end of the current screws but intonation just about OK.

When I first started down a vintage parts bass build a year ago, I compared the weight of vintage vs modern bridges (not including string mute attachment) and they weighed almost exactly the same.

Like @Mr66StangBass mine are very much at the end of the current screws but intonation just about OK.

this is also my experience, and I do think having an extra 3-5mm of screw might make improve the intonation above the 12th fret. Also, I now realize this has to be why Fender moved the bridge forward on modern reissues of the mustang bass, to account for these intonation issues. Or maybe it was a factory error that kept getting replicated. Who knows with Fender and their notorious QC issues. Either way, it does appear that modern mustangs wouldn’t have this issue so much.

I am trying to replace the saddle height set screws. Does anyone have specs for the screws?

My intonation screws arrived and they fitted perfectly. I now have a few mm of thread to spare which puts my mind at ease. Thanks to those who helped me figure out the correct ones

Thanks! I want to swap out with the slotted screws to make it more ‘vintage correct’ but it seems everyone is using hex head. Search continues

I found quite a few when I searched for 4-40 slot grub screw. Are you in the US?
#4-40 x 1/8" Coarse Thread Slotted Set Screw Cup Point Stainless Steel 18-8

Not sure how long they need to be but quite a few options.

This was what I got from Fender for the JMJ saddle height adjustment screws

If there was one non-Fender bass that is able to mimic the tone (not anything else, e.g. scale, weight, etc.) of a Mustang (MIM), does anyone have an idea which it could/would be?

Greetings, I am new and happy to join the site with fellow Mustang Bass lovers. I am a guitar player hobbyist/ collector, and have always toyed with the idea of getting a bass, but never pulled the trigger since the long scale basses were so awkward to play. But I recently bought a 2019 Fender MIM Vintera 60s Mustang Bass for my son and fell in love with the short scale playability.

And that peeked my interest in a bass for the collection and I just scored this beauty at a great price. 1966 Fender Mustang Bass in Dakota Red, absolutely untouched original...except for the headstock sticker.

I wanted to ask if anyone has ever come across a Fender logo oriented that strange way on the headstock. I plan to remove that sticker and have already purchased and waiting for a period correct replacement.
