I compared the JMJ to one of the PJ Mustangs at GC, and to me, the JMJ was the winner in terms of sound, and also feel. I'm also partial to flats, so that may have been a factor.
Got this Sonic Blue ‘Tang in early October and the cool Decoboom pick guard yesterday! Trying to make a final decision on strings. The ones that come on these have too much finger noise for me. I put a set of Rotosound flats on and am not real happy with the fit (the cloth winding at the ball end rests on the saddles). They are a little dull sounding too. Recommendations appreciated. I’ll probably replace the switch with a blend pot soon at some point.
Labella deep talkin flats were my choice...

I have those on mine as well and like them.
Am also going to try a set of D’Addario tapewounds just to see. They make a short scale set
Back in the late '60's, I had a Telecaster bass with, what was then called black nylon strings. Sounded great but now I would try a string mute with the La Bellas, first...just me but, YMMV

Thoughts on the Pawn Shop Mustang, and how much you would realistically pay for one? There's an olympic white one in my area with no exact price set and I've been seriously gassing for a Mustang.
With the humbucker? I don’t have any experience playing one, but FWIW, I saw one in the wild at a show a few weeks back, and it sounded great!
Only got to try one once. It was well made with a string through body. I liked it. They were $800 new. The humbucker made it different. I wasn’t in the market at the time, but made a mental note that I’d like to pick one up at some point and try a Tbird or Thunderbucker pickup in it.
As for price, I’ve never seen a used one. I don’t think there are many of them out there, so it’s hard to say what to pay for one now a few years later. If you really like it in that configuration, you need to understand it’s a bit of a rarity and the seller probably knows that. Maybe up to $600? Who knows.

EMG Geezer Butler pickups which are VVT so I did a little change to the jack location.
Switchcraft Switch - of course. Running TI Flats. Generic heavy bridge.
It came from the factory with an oversize nut that stuck out 1mm each side at the fingerboard. Weird. It is hard to find a 38mm/1.5in skinny, curved bottom nut for a bass so I ended up with a brass one.
Running through a GK Goldline 500 via an Behringer V-amp Pro into a Ampeg SVT-210 cabinet.

Technically no, and the premade pickup harness is not wired that way. But I spliced it in anyway since I like that I can completely cut out one set of pickups.

I’ve been thinking about mods on mine. I’ll likely use a blend knob where the switch currently lives. I have a couple of questions if you have time. Did you do these mods incrementally or all at once? I ask because I’m interested in knowing what the effects were on the pickups opposed to the bridge?

Hi everyone, can I get some advice on the age old PJ selector switch issue? I’ve noticed my PJ is occasionally not working on one (no particular) Pup, but then works OK if I switch to both. I’m assuming I need to replace the selector switch. Any thoughts?

Above, you mentioned "a "modern" MIJ P/J". Might have just been a typo, but otherwise, you might want to be aware that, unless Fender Japan just recently come out with something new I don’t know about, the MIJ Mustang bass is quite different than the Mustang P/J.
The MIJ Mustang is a slab bodied loose reissue of the old Mustangs. In particular, it has one "Seymour Duncan-designed" split coil Mustang-style pickup and just the traditional (for a Mustang or P bass) one volume knob + one tone knob control setup. Also, the body wood is alder and the neck is J-style with a vintage radius (7.25") rosewood fretboard and a vintage-style neck pocket attachment. Traditional Mustang style bridge, string through (so you can actually use regular length strings).
Meanwhile, the P/J is MIM with a P/J pickup setup and a pickup selector switch. Also, it has a more P-style neck and a modern radius (9.5") pau ferró fingerboard (though ones from a few years ago had rosewood). Top loading bridge, so you can’t use regular 34" scale length strings on it.
Reading online just now, it sounds like the Mikey Way is string through with a Jazz style neck. 9.5" radius fretboard. Basswood body. The most obvious characteristic of this bass, besides the paint job, would be its single humbucker of some sort.
