Fender Mustang Club

Ummm...

BBOT = Baked Beans On Toast?

I have a set of stacked controls I've been considering installing but I never use the bridge pickup so I'm thinking instead of bypassing the switch and J pickup and wiring the P pickup to the volume control like a P bass ought to be. I'd remove the switch and fill the hole with a white nylon or metal plug.

If you don't really like or use the J pickup, that makes a lot of sense, would simplify things a lot,
and would be easy to undo in the future if you change your mind.

I’m done (almost) with my Mustang project.

This was a used 2016 sonic blue with rosewood board. (Wanted Oly white but this is close...)

Solved neck dive and shaved overall weight with Hipshot ultralites (lollipop). Fralin pickups, tort guard, nice setup. Tapewounds at the moment feel and sound nice.

She’s now a hair under 7 pounds and meets the target for a lightweight short scale I can play out for real when my (human) neck acts up. I’m still going to rewire volume and tone knobs so they function the way I prefer and probably change out the toggle switch.

Not a good pic but you’ve all seen a Mustang PJ before. ;) I’m pleased with how she came out.
Sweet bass. Where did you get tort pickguard?

Looking good. Nice job!

Hey all,

Just wanted to let you know I will be away from TB for awhile as I am off to our Nation's Capital to present the proposal for the charity in my late granddaughter's name. Hopefully I should be back in about a month.

Now don't go and do any spectacular modifications I might be interested in! But you do have my blessing to change any “Mint" pickguards you might come across.

If I don't make it back in time Everyone have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
