Add me to the list! Love everything about it but hat slab bodies. Would like a belly cut and that area to rest my forearm like a standard Fender bass. Other than that, its awesome.

Yep, slab bodies are way out of date, and Fender should spend the extra $ to cut the bodies. At least they have rounded edge.....

Quick question:

I love my American Perfomer mustang so much I’m looking at buying a second mustang of another variety. I really like the white CIJ mustangs. My main question is about the neck profile. The American performer neck seems thicker and more on the P side than the J. I love slim J bass necks. How does the CIJ neck compare?

The CIJ Mustang has a slim neck. The AP and JMJ have beefy necks. Personally, I prefer the JMJ neck but that's why there's a choice.

I agree, plus the Mustang PJ has a fatter neck profile with a 1.5" wide nut. I find the neck on my CIJ to be considerably thinner in profile and it also has a 1.5" wide nut. The CIJ feels noticeably smaller to me compared to the beefier neck on my PJ but I find both easy to play.

They come up occasionally on eBay. Save a search on Fender Mustang Bass and set it to get emails. They send all the new listings to you and then some. The last one I saw was a couple of weeks ago, but it was from Japan and priced pretty high.

Yep! I’ve also seen them pop up occasionally on Reverb; you can set it up for alerts there, too.

They didn't make a white one with red stripes. They made a Candy Apple Red one with white stripes and an Olympic White one with blue stripes, like this.

Just got this pic from My friend at West Virginia Wood Arts of my Maple pick guard that he is finishing up today for my Mustang. Cant wait to get it...Going to put a set of Nordstrand P/J Blades in it and wire up with stacked V/T, V/T knobs...no switch

Any recommendations to replace the stock bridge on a Fender Mustang PJ ?

I want to string mine with Rotosound 77s, but there is not enough adjustment to intonate the E string.

I could probably move the stock bridge further from the neck but not sure I want to do that.

i put a babicz on my fender PJ. The E string is still a TINY bit off with the saddle moved all the way back. It's not worth complaining about

I put a Fender Hi Mass Bridge on mine. It fit the original screw holes and intonated perfectly.

Just to see how much adjustment I lacked...

I had to use three ball ends on the E as well as use a shorter spring. The break angle from the bridge plate to the saddle was pretty severe.

Btw, other string sets have not been a problem but the RS 77s were. And they are the ones that I really dig.

Yes it is. At first I thought I just had a bad E string but they all were tough to intonate.

I have TI Flats on it now, which are fine, but I like the 77s better.

I need to determine which Bridge has the most adjustment length I suppose.

You are correct. Thats the one I really want!

I had an Olympic White, and a 3-Color Sunburst. I should've hung on to either one of them. Great sounding basses with the Humbucking pup.
