have you ever noticed how some of the greatest products in bass have be based off designs by fender? i.e Ernie Ball Stingray, Mesa Boogie. It reminds me of those old BASF commericials, "We don't make a lot of the products you use, we make the products you use, better."

What Fender product did Mesa Boogie base any of their products design off?
Fender Bassman maybe?
He modified Princetons I believe and the story goes Santana came into the shop, plugged in and that was the start of the Boogie.
yeah, randall smith (mesa creator aka god) modified fenders at first. and still used fender's main design and circuits for his amps.
