Fender P-Bass Question

I own a bass or three, but I've never really been into Fenders. Well now I am. I want a P-Bass (not PJ). But there are a few aesthetic touches I'm looking for, and I'm having a difficult time finding them or differentiating between the models. So...if I want a P-Bass with:

1. Neck binding
2. Body binding

...what series would either of those additions fall under...or is this going to be a Custom Shop project (or another brand?)?

Thanks for your help!

the classic 70s P (MIM these days) has P neck with black blocks and binding on maple fingerboard. Also there a ton of Jazz necks out there with binding on the neck- if you don't mind the thinner jazz neck.

Just checked, it was the King Blues, and it doesn't look like they currently offer a production model. But they can build you anything you want, probably a little more reasonably than most custom shops. www.saintblues.com.

Another reasonably priced "custom fender" builder you might look into is Bluesman Vintage in Nashville. I've played a few of their instruments and they're pretty nice.

No, I'm thinking more of the staggered traditional P.

Man, I gotta tell all of you I'm very impressed and grateful for all of your help and suggestions so far. My Fender knowledge is very limited on the bass side (funny...I know their guitars pretty well from collecting but I've only owned a few Fender Basses and currently only have an MIA Urge II with Drop D configured J-P-J).

You've give me some great info and direction. Anything else is just Lagniappe!! ImageUploadedByTalkBass1368686343.347923.jpg

Neck and body binding are options on all U.S. G&L basses, which include the LB-100 P-bass with traditional alnico pickup, and the SB-1 with the monstrous Leo-designed MFD split-coil. Lots of other options too:
