Fender Player Precision - what color?

So, finally decided to buy a Fender P. From what I've heard, the Player Series (MIM) is pretty good and within my budget. Please help me choose color . Choosing between the classic Buttercream and the very cool Tidepool but I just can't make up my mind. And of course, there's always carrots...

My priority would be to pick a fingerboard first. Maple is expected to sound a little brighter and snappier.

• Between the maple basses, I like the blue one.
• Between the pau ferro basses, there aren't too many choices.

I've seen blue and butterscotch side by side and they both looked very good. Blue would win for me by a small margin.

From my perspective, I don't think I would be able to identify any difference in the sound between different fingerboard materials. I doubt if anyone would
But from an aesthetic point of view, I think I prefer maple, especially with the Buttercream model.

I'm soon in a band, just waiting for the Corona thing to disappear. I'm still a beginner, playing for no more than three years. Been taking some play-in-a-band-courses and played some blues jams.
Recently found a drummer and a guitarist who wants to start something new, but the virus got between us. I'm heavily into blues, soul and funk so I really need a proper P bass. My inspiration comes from bassists like Duck Dunn, James Alexander, George Porter Jr, Rocco Prestia, Bootsy, Bernard Odum, Carol Kaye and many more.

Yeah. I think buttercream suits that style. The blue would too. Heck, so would the orange, but I am partial to maple necks on a Fender and that buttercream really has a nice, almost vintage style to it. Whatever you do end up chossing, have fun! It sounds like you are off to a good start.

Of course, I'd find a nice pickguard for it.

If the blue one had a rosewood fretboard, i'd choose that (i prefer maple fretboard only when paired with a nice ash body). As it is, my pick would be the orange one. But honestly speaking, all three are beautiful, congrats!

I can't get rid of the feeling that the orange, kind of like carrots color looks best

I fitted a 3 ply black to my Tidepool Jaguar and it looks good.

I have seen both Tidepool and Buttercream in person and IMO the Tidepool smokes almost every other color that Fender makes on ANY model. It is Beautiful and pictures never do it justice.
