On the “make them like ‘59” thing: I played a 1958 Precision last week. It wasn’t anything amazing, really. Nice, but not astonishingly so. Also, QC was up and down right through all production years.

There are no wrong honest answers to an opinion poll.tf, I like your Fender poll series and voted in each. When I realized what my honest answer was for this one ("Go back to making them exactly like they did in 1959"), I started guffawing.
What is past is past. It ain't coming back. But man if I could get a 1959 Precision and a 1960 Jazz as from a time machine, new from the factory, I would have all the Fender bass guitars I could ever need.
