More six string models. I like Fender, but I have to look elsewhere for the poison of my choice. I doubt I'll ever see a six string Fender P bass in my lifetime...

atleast they did a 6 jazz for Steve Bailey and something like 6 months later he was with Warwick

Something else. Being in the twilight of a long and undistinguished career I would only buy another bass if I were to re-commit to playing steady. My three basses don't need more company but I would buy another Fender in a heartbeat if they did.

Who wouldn’t like lower prices‽ But honestly, I’m not offended by Fender prices. They have a lot of options at a lot of different price points and retailers typically have room to negotiate. Also, if you buy the right model, they hold their value rather well. I voted for local availability. There are several dozen current production models, but most shops have only a few varieties in stock.

I thought I'd see a lot more requests for jazz necks on p basses as a standard offering. That's what I'd want.

I also am not a fan of the placement of the white side dots half on the fretboard, half on the neck on rosewood and pao ferro models.

I chose "Something Else". I would like Fender to allow customers to order color choices, pick guard, Ash or Alder, and case options from a larger selection through online dealers for a reasonable up-charge. I may like the American professional P-bass, but not any of the standard colors. I also might want the Tolex case instead of the plastic ATA case, etc.

I bought 2 G&ls. I put my priorities on Leo over a sold brand he was disassociated from since 1965. Those two, a JB-2 Tribute (Indonesian) and my US made LB 100 are all the Fender I want. You asked.

There sure are a lot of basses on the used market right now. There's so much to choose from, buying a new one doesn't click with me, I'm too cheap. There are tons of bargains out there.

I tried one and found it to be over rated. Boring tone, most have very boring finishes. The one I bought was the only interesting one I've seen in decades. There is a Select on here that has a flame top, but Fender stupidly paired it with a white PG. The seller put a black one on it that makes it decent. No P bass is worth more than $1000.

I have nothing against Fender basses, I've had some real good ones but I'm used to a "35 scale these days.

Maybe a learner model that works in conjunction with their app. Each string path can have its own specific color of LEDs down the fretboard. Your fingers simply follow the lights. Muscle memory soon takes over, no more lights, no more looking at the board. You'll never play a Fender the same way again.

In all seriousness, I'm not sure how to vote. I'd like to see both lower prices and new & different models.

A medium scale P Bass would be hard for me to resist even at new prices. Any short or medium scale with a vintage radius and matching headstock would be Kryptonite to my wallet. While we are wishful thinking I will also take a hardtail Strat with vintage radius and matching head, thank you very much

I could go for both of those! I have no idea why they don't make hardtail Strats anymore. And much as I love Mustangs, I'd rather they had three different kinds of Mustangs and a 32" bass than 4 different kinds of Mustangs.

I have purchased a couple of well-used (unfortunately not classic/worth anything) Fenders in the past, but to answer the questions in these polls:

1. I've only ever bought one new one,
2. I bought it in the last three years,
3. and I'd happily buy more, but I just don't play out enough these days to justify it. At the moment I only play out one or two nights a month. If I was gigging two or three nights a week, pretty much every week, I'd buy a Precision.

I would buy a brand new Fender if they did a Roadworn Precision in burst or aged Olympic white with rosewood boards but not Custom Shop...oh and tort guards of course!
