Here is my dad's baby that I just bought back from a local collector who had it under his bed. It's a 1964 Fender Jazz Bass in rare Gold Sparkle. It was my dad's main bass until he traded it for a 1968 Telecaster bass (which I also have). The first picture is with my dad in 1968 shortly before the trade. It's something I'll treasure and pass on to my kids!! Another 1956 P Bass, this time with an alder body. I used to own a 1956 ash body, swapped it for this one because I like the tone better.

Didn't know the single Coil 56 P also came with an alder body. That's why I love TB.

Have a quick question about my 66 P Bass, asking here as the specs are effectively the same pertaining to this question. Has anyone's P Bass just started randomly buzzing out of nowhere?
I temporarily fixed it by grounding the bridge to the output jack with a guitar string so I could not have it buzz during a show. From the factory at this point, vintage P basses didn't have a bridge ground wire, but so far its been fully quiet and then just started buzzing and now needs the bridge to be grounded. Is it possible something got loose under the guard or maybe a short is happening? My knowledge of electronics is very limited so this is rather perplexing, thanks in advance for any advice!

A few more pics of my '58. These were taken by the Guitar Broker and really show how flamey the neck is.

I looked for a long time before finding this bass, and I'm really enjoying it.

Craig had posted on FB about how he'd acquired a large collection and I e-mailed him inquiring if there was an original Gold Guard in the pile. My timing was right on and he sold me this lovely bass before he started working through and listing stuff.

My record collection backdrop is nice, but there is nothing like the full Florida sun to show the detail on this amazing neck.

Please forgive the 33% post CBS content in this pic. I think it's super fun to see three different versions of 3-color sunburst on these all original basses. 1964 L3 on the left and my 'birth year' 1972 on the right.

7.9, 8.4, and 8.3 pounds from left to right. They all play and sound great. I've been really vibing on the '72 lately. It's easy to forget how nice the lacquer finishes look when they are whole and unbroken.
