The ‘59 is still in active duty.

Nice! How different do they sound?
Not much. The dead spot in the usual place (5th to 7th fret G-string) is far less prominent on the bass with the alder body. That was the main reason for the swap. The ash body has more growl, the alder sounds a little fuller/warmer. I put a set of Dunlop flats on it, which makes it sound almost upright like. Prefect for my country/folk blues side project.

Just picked this up today….‘64/65 P, all original, Candy Apple. Incredible tone and feel. Paired with my ‘62 they make about a perfect pair! I’m really happy - I’be been looking around for a while for a great pre CBS P. I’m good.

That looks amazing. Love the patina on that white guard. How does it sound/play compared to the 62?
