Fender pre-CBS Club: pics mandatory!

I’ve seen both “starts in 1960” and “late ’59 transitional” mentioned. Would love to see any confirmed ’59 examples if they’re out there.

I don't have any photos or definitive proof that they started in 59. The Fender Bass An Illustrated History states the strap button started in 60, but Fender in notoriously all over the map with documenting. You might try @Beano_z who owns a 59. He might be able to tell you more.

Does anybody recognize this particular color
I don't think it goes back to pre. CBS days, although I certainly wish it did
Well, if it's not appropriate for pre CBS there's always Sherwood, green and see from green, I suppose qan. How long with Lake Placid blue? But I'd really do like this color.

It's really hard to tell from these screenshots ; do you have full pictures, and with the front of the bass body perhaps? More details would be helpful.
It looks a lot like the California Blue on the current Squier Sonic Model.

@mikeswals believes it's Maui, which can be tricked to trace, as it's an old colour and it often has aged to a beautiful more towards turquoise blue :)

1000% this.

Also, if you know a good luthier, they might be able to do a decent repair on that guard (acetone works as glue on celluloid and can melt the pieces together - but you have to know what you're doing as it's very easy to mess it up, it's essentially acid on that material).

Not exactly close but the closest of the pre CBS colors would be Daphne Blue.

Yeah, price seemed OK and Ish was really good on working with me. I thought it looked really nice. It's still in transit!

Any suggestions for somebody who could do an accurate foam, green body refinish
I seem to remember a couple of years back there. Being somebody on this group that did them and was going off an actual foam, green guitar for comparison
Does anybody know who I might be talking about? Or have contact information for him as well

Bloomdoom if I recall correctly from this thread. I think Joe Riggio does amazing work but it will cost you.
