Black on black, maple fretboard is it!!! (Black block inlays, of course). Awesome looking combo! Now start looking for the one you want. You’re welcome.Hey Guys,
I’m new to talkbass and apologies if this has been asked a million times already.
I have had my Olympic white P Bass with a Rosewood board for nearly 20 years now and it’s time for a change! I’m going a “new look” with a Maple board.
Thoughts please?
- Black on black w/ Maple
- Candy Apple Red (Nate body) black pickguard w/ Maple
- Sunburst black pickguard w/ Maple
- Or a 2 tone Sunburst Road Worn P?
Cheers
Your wife’s Strat is much better lookin’ than that P-bass of yours. Just sayin’...Honestly, Olympic white and maple looks amazing, IMO. Here's my wife's strat for example. View attachment 3441498
And here's my '73 p bass, blond and maple...

Go for the Squier CV Pre-Bass. Cheap, beautiful, good, easy to upgrade if at all needed. What else do you want?
I don’t care for black blocks
