Fender Precision Bass with a Maple Board Thoughts?

I’ve always been a fan of the black & black w/maple.

 

You should add a poll.

I vote red w black pickguard. Handsome looking stage combo.

I love black and maple all day but feel it is suited to a more "metal" look.

 

I'm biased towards your second choice:

 

Honestly, Olympic white and maple looks amazing, IMO. Here's my wife's strat for example.
And here's my '73 p bass, blond and maple...

Not Fenders and not P style basses in the examples below but you get the idea

 

Get a maple neck on the existing body! No reason (unless broken)...

 

This has to be a 70's Fender, guess why I would say that?

If you add black blocks to that, then that's my exact ideal setup.

The one on the right was specifically requested with white pearloid inlays rather than black blocks

Now maybe I’d go for black pearloid blocks?

 

Personally I'd lean towards the Black or Red... But it's what you prefer isn't it...
