I know guys it's crap, but what can ya' do. They get it one way, or the other. The whole Rosewood thing is all smoke and mirrors from the feds anyway. Drum up more revenue.
Just like I said, Tim Horton's sells more coffee they don't raise prices, they just supply the demand.
There's always an excuse to gouge people some more.
I always buy used but don't think those prices...which are also rediculous...will be reasonable. Just look at used Stingrays.
However, when I just bought my brand new Torino Red Mustang PJ with full warranty but with a paint chip from the dealer for $350 and free shipping, I can now Say I saved $250 instead of $200.

Shawshank that's the key, TH is supplying the demand so there's no increase. Fender either can't supply the demand or won't, either way their prices go up.
Here in Canada many instrument did have an increase and some are quite substantial.
I also heard that rosewood add another layer of complex for importing. Like I ordered an EBMM and the guy told me it could be a little faster since I wanted maple but rosewood could add a lot more time ...

I hope they start using more pau ferro. It's still one of my favorite fingerboard woods.
Fender has never been quick on doing any adjustments on their site for anything!
I'm not a rosewood fan, only 2 basses that I still own have rosewood fretboards, and both of them was because I could not turn down the price (mars goob clearance mia p bass, and a stupid cheap peavey foundation on Craigslist, and the one I recently sold was stupid cheap when I bought it). I prefer maple or wenge.
Guitar wise, I have a couple of rosewood boards, and an Ernie ball petrucci with an all rosewood neck. My Yamaha SBG has an ebony board, ebony is pretty sweet too.
