FENDER raised their prices on Squiers

Musician's Friend, the sunburst went up $50, the others are still $299.99Dang... well I'm glad I got my VM P-5 already.
Some other places are still showing the old price, some went up.
Get one now if ya want one.
Actually since people love to split hairs anyway, the correct thing to say is that Fender raised the prices on Squiers. There is no Squier entity. It's just a product brand.
And don't get started with FMIC versus Fender. Fender is a perfectly good way to say the name of the company too.

I bought an Epiphone Thunderbird Pro IV in March of 2014 for $399 the day before Gibson raised the price to $499. Last year in November, I believe, they went up to $549.
I bought a Squier CV Jazz bass in Inca Silver for $379...I've been saying for the past year that I wouldn't be surprised if Fender started asking $479 for them.
I thought it was just canadian BS again.

A) Even at a $50 price hoke, I still think it's the best bang for buck going right now.
B) I only ever buy used basses anyway so I don't care, someone else can take that hit for me. Then I'll get my CV 50's Tele.

I noticed the price of the Jag SS went from $179 to $199.
That makes the new Ibanez TMB30 an even better buy.

Squires haven't been around for a while.
Actually I can think of more contemporary Squires than Squiers but that is beside the point, the gentleman in the picture is the ancestor of both! Surnames with both those spellings and several others all go back to people who had the occupation pictured above. As far as basses go the difference between Squier and Squire is the difference between this:

Besides, Squier basses (the ones I've played, at least) have been awesome. $20 is not a bad markup for a bass of that quality, at that price point. Mind you, I'd still prefer a markdown.
