And Pawn Shops also...I though CL was where guitars went to cost more used than they did new?

Yeah we gotta stop talking up good gear in this forum.
Where's that guy who hates every Squier he's ever owned?
....I bought a Squier CV Jazz bass in Inca Silver for $379...I've been saying for the past year that I wouldn't be surprised if Fender started asking $479 for them.
I believe you have that backwards. The Canadian $ has plunged versus the US$ over the last year or so; falling oil prices being the main culprit. Even if Fender kept their prices the same their products would have to be resold at a much higher rate in Canada due to the weak Canadian $.
These things tend to be cyclical. Back in the 90s the Canadian $ was valued significantly higher than the US$; about 12% higher if memory serves me correctly.
Seems like the best time for Ibanez to come eat squier's lunch.
Were Doc Martens ever cheap? They were everywhere in the 90's, but I don't remember them being especially affordable.Vans, Doc Martens, thrift store clothes....these things became cool because they were cheap and accessible.
I agree. The TMB is a sweet bass and probably a better value than the Squire's, but Fender headstock still counts for alot in many folks eyes, especially in the USA.Those TMB's are cool, but they'll never outsell P's & J's.
I may have been mistaken, but I am under the impression that originally in the UK they were cheap. But understanding a Scottish accent is always a little elusive! Were Doc Martens ever cheap?
I wanted to get a Squier Bass VI last year but my daughter moving in with me changed my priorities. Was recently looking it up to order and was shocked to see it went up $100! $449 for a Squier! While not necessarily breaking the bank another $100 can get me a damn good used Warwick 5 string! I really want that Bass VI, but damn! A $50 increase I could see, but $100? Or am I just coming across as cheap?
