Fender Roadworn Series

I haven't played the Flea bass but I do have a Road Worn Jazz bass already. Looking at the Flea bass spec sheet, I can't imagine they would sound very different... but I could be wrong. With that being said, I originally was looking at purchasing the Flea bass but instead went with an Am Std P bass.

It would be awesome to have a Road Worn 70's-era Jazz bass. On an unrelated topic, it'd be cool if they re-issued the 80's Precision Elite basses.

I thought I read a thread where you were looking to buy a flea bass or something like. Either way, you may like the avri 64 as a comparison to jam on. Those are my favorite Fender J's.

I did say I was interested in a Flea Jazz. I would like one, but it is more like a passing thing for me. My DJ5 is enough for me, especially with my Sadowsky preamp.

Road Worns are really nice. But I've felt the electronics usually need an upgrade.

IN GENERAL, a Road Worn is no match for an American Vintage Reissue. I'd try to hunt down a deal on a used AVRI bass over a Road Worn. You may find the RW that is the "holy grail", but I would bet your odds being much better if you check out AVRI. And as far as the Flea, its basically a RW with stack-knob controls and a funky "Flea" neckplate, but otherwise is equal in quality to a typical RW.
