Fender Roscoe Beck Pickups Question

Nordstrand would definitely elaborate more on how to actually make them sound more like that. But my take was, they are a side-by-side dual with a nice modern snap to them. They can be split to either side as singles and they even have a similar look.

That said, you could also probably have Nordstrand build up a custom pickup that incorporates their 70s vibe into a housing like an MM cover of some sort. Possibly modding the DC pickup, too?
They are cool people! Couldn't hurt to shoot them an email. Assuming they're not quarantined (and maybe still if they are), they would likely provide all kinds of guidance.

I went to the Nordstrand site to check out the Big Rig's you mentioned and they did show a dual Jazz pickup set that could do series and parallel (RB's have 3 way mini-toggles for each pickup .. series, single coil, parallel). Those might work. I think I will open a conversation with the good folks at Nordstrand and see what thoughts they have. Couldn't hurt.

Its been a while but I'm after the same thing. How did your tone quest go?

you know, I never did follow up with Nordstrand. I ended up just getting the wiring/switches on the RB IV redone by someone who knew what they were doing, and that has seemingly fixed my issues.

if your having issues with yours, good luck. It seems fixable as long as it's not the pickups that are the problem, and the wiring/routing/switching is fairly complicated compared to most basses.
