If I had a Shuttle 9.0 head, I wouldn't even consider a Rumble.I am not familiar with the Rumble heads, but I do know my Genz-Benz Shuttle sounded awesome with this cabinet. Plus the Benz is 500W @ 8 ohms.
The nice thing about the Benz is I can use it on small or large rigs. Small would be with the new Rumble cabinet I got. Medium size rig would be the Benz with my Markbass NY 212 (2x12) cabinet which is 4 ohm, which jumps the power to 900W. For even more sound I'll use the Benz with my 4 ohm SWR Marcus Miller 4x10 GoLight cabinet.

Well said. My limited opinion came from my audition of the Rumble combos. I didn't care for them at all but I could believe that more went into the 800HD watt head. Now that I have been using the Rumble stuff for many years now, the Shuttle is collecting dust. I use a Rumble 800HD head with either a Rumble 112 or a Rumble 210 (use two for bigger venues) cabinet. I actually love the Rumble head more then the Shuttle. Very easy to get a great tone, very transparent sounding and very very reliable. Which I could say the same about the Shuttle and my GK Fusion 800 which both were consistently in the shop for repairs. The Rumble gear has never failed and been real workhorses.
Yea, in its day the Shuttle was a great amp. But remember, Fender bought Genz-Benz as well as SWR. I’m sure some of the technology in both of those made there way into the Rumble.
~Had horrendous GAS this morning. Started looking at SS amps, then tube amps and then, when I randomly discovered the Rumble 112 cabs were going to be hard to find, I jumped on a brand new Rumble 2x8. I have the 350w head and the 112 cab... so now I will have the whole micro stack! - This doesn't solve my other problem of my blown Little Mark Ninja needing repair or replacement, but this will be fun for smaller gigs in the meantime (I don't actually play any large ones often anyway).
Will resurrect this thread again in two years to report back.![]()

The 112 cabinet is an 8 ohms load and will take 250 watts RMS.I'm about to get a 112 v3 and a rumble 500 head.
Is that ok? Am I going to burn the cab?
The 112 cabinet is an 8 ohms load and will take 250 watts RMS.
The 500 head will deliver 350 watts into 8 ohms, 500 watts into 4 ohms.
The pairing will be fine as long as you are careful.

Hello! Which amp do you use?Generally I use the 112 cabinet in small venues or low volume gigs, so never an issue. And I have that headroom when need it for solos and such. I use my 210 cabinets mainly. It was a shame Fender discontinued the 112, great sounding little cabinet.

I'm planning on buying an used rumble 500 to pair with a 112 cab. Do I better go with a rumble 200? Up to what point a rumble 500 head would damage the 112 cab?
Sorry to bother. You dudes know a lot of stuff, and I can't afford to burn the cab.
I use the Rumble 800HD head. When using it with a single 8 ohm cabinet it’s 400W. Yes, more then the 112 is rated. But, I typically only use that cabinet at lower volume gigs, so blowing it is not a concern. And I have that headroom when I need it for solos.
Most my gigs I use the Rumble 210 cabinet. Two of them for larger venues, which gives me the full 800W.[/QUOTE
I have to chose between a 200 (new) or a 500 rumble head (used), and the cab is definitely the 112.
I'd use it for small gigs and band practice, but maybe later i'll add a 2*10 cab.
Wich one suits me better?
Thanks for your time and patience. I'm just a noob, and you guys are bass wisdom.
