Fender Rumble 800 Combo Thread for the NEW 2022 800 Combo

The 800 stage cover is the proper one.
Both amps have same size.

What's weird is the Invalid Link Removed shows the case to be used for 200, 500 or Stage. Maybe the .7 doesn't matter much. They are out of stock anyway. I did a chat with the Fender site and they had no answer

My pre-ordered Rumble 800 combo gets delivered on Thursday and I’m definitely looking forward to using it at some medium sized clubs I’ll be working at this weekend.

I know one forum member has already received his and has posted some impressions about the 800.

Having owned many Rumble combos over the years I’m definitely interested to see how this new 800 compares to the Rumble 500 combo in regards to the extra wattage, the volume and punch and many other differences.
This is also a first for a Rumble combo to be using Neodymium drivers which I’m also very interested in hearing.
The 29lb weight is also very cool.

Hopefully Fender will introduce a 210 or 1x15 extension cab with Neodymium drivers and hopefully any extension cab will of be equal size proportions to match the 800 combo dimensions.
Stacking the Rumble 200 or 500 combos on top of the 1x15 extension cab has always looked so ugly.
Years ago I had my Rumble 500 combo sitting on top of my Rumble 1x12 extension cab and that looked and sounded great, unfortunately Fender discontinued the Rumble 1x12 cab years ago, it would be nice to see that 1x12 cab return with a Neodymium driver but I’m guessing that won’t happen.

Anyhow, hopefully this can be a dedicated thread for the new Rumble 800 and hopefully this thread doesn’t get lumped into the Rumble Club thread and get buried in with all the other Rumble’s.

Thoughts, opinions, feedback and staying on topic for the new for 2022 Rumble 800 combo welcome.

The Rumble Stage 800 combo is a digital modeling amp with presets and effects onboard, cost around $1000, 39lbs.
The Rumble 800 combo is not a digital modeling amp, 29lbs, $850, it closely resembles the Rumble 500 combo but with more power, less weight and Neodymium drivers.

Yep, those would be the differences between the Rumble Stage 800 combo and the new Rumble 800 combo.

A few years ago I owned both the Stage 800 and Rumble 500 at the same time, but returned the Rumble Stage 800 few weeks after that purchase for various reasons.
In the past I’ve owned several Rumble 500’s, several Rumble 200’s and several Rumble 100’s.

For myself personally, I’m liking my recently purchased new Rumble 800 more than I liked the Stage 800 or the Rumble 500’s I previously owned.

What did you like more about it? Can’t you just turn off the modeling and have what the current rumble 800 offers? Or is there something more I’m missing

I've owned the 500 head and combo and also briefly owned the 800 stage before returning it.

I appreciate the incremental fine tuning on the series without changing the core. Picking up the 800 combo was an easy purchase.

I personally didn’t find the UI of the Stage 800 that user friendly.
The assortment of effects were limited for real world usage, while there are some cool effects on the Stage 800 I think the majority of them were nothing I would ever use.
Also I started seeing negative reviews on the Stage 800 regarding reliability, all of my gigs are paying gigs and I need to have a super reliable amp with me at all times, of I also bring backup amps and bass’s with me to all gigs but I don’t want to have need to use backup if it can be helped.
I don’t use allot of bass effects so the Stage 800 was also overkill for me.

Anyway, I think you are referring to these collected o-scope graphs showing "flat, all noon" settings versus actual flat settings of approximately 10, 2, 2, 10 o'clock for B, Lm, Hm, T. Is that what you meant? :smug:

With that "flat, all noon" settings curve it's easy to see where "the Fender scoop" reference comes from. Truth be told, most amps probably have some version, more or less, of that with the "deep" sounding amps having more and the "hi-fi" sounding amps having less. Don't ya think?

Yes, I have noticed that as well and turning the “Bass” Eq a drop to the left and the “High Mid” a drop to the right on the 800 Rumble goes a long way.

IKR? So, here's what the Fender Rumble Principal Engineer had to say about the lack of "clip lights".

But, then I noticed the new 800 COMBO manual calling what I thought was the "Power Indicator Light" a "Power/Status Light" instead!?! What's that?? And, so it happens that, actually, the Rumble 800 HD head and this new Rumble 800 COMBO *DO* have "clip lights"!!!

You never know what you might learn by reading the manuals. :woot:
