Hahahaha! For the past 4 to 6 months I've been devising a plan and scheme about ways to present soundproofing our bonus room to my wife.

Nah, not necessary. I practice in my small practice room/home office with the 500 and it's just fine. The volume knob works just fine at low conversation volume plus you can always use headphones. Put the limited funds into a 500, best of both worlds.

Ok, let's say I get the 200 and go ahead and get a 410. You know damned good and well you are still gonna want that 500 only now you will have to sell your 200 used which means instead of spending an extra $150 NOW to just get the 500 you will have to spend an extra $250 later. (this is because selling the used 200 means taking a $100 loss which ends up being sort of a "rental fee" for the time you used it before graduating to the 500. Never again will you be able to move all the way up from the 200 to the 500 for just $150 more)

You know you want the damned thing. It has a headphone jack and volume knob. You can add a cab when you truly need/want more at some point down the line.

Now, in my perfect little dream world where my wife says, "Oh please honey spend all you want on everything for bass guitar because I love you and you deserve it and well, I don't need a vacation with a bass God like you around the house!", I would get a Rumble 500, a 410 and a Rumble 40. (Man oh man did I LOVE that Rumble 40.)

I do not live in that perfect dream world so it's either get a little better amp and then GAS all over wanting more which will end up costing way more in the long run or biting the proverbial bullet and going 500 now.

I have already told my wife how light it is and she was not impressed and even tried to play her several YouTube review videos and well, so far she seems happy enough with my Hartke but she won't have a problem if I get ONE amp.

Her fear is I will fill this place as I want to replace my drum kit and let's say she doesn't exactly share my belief that covering every wall in soundproofing material looks way cooler than anything she can pick up at Kirkland's.

So, it appears I will be joining the Rumble club and will end up going with the 500 because it just makes sense.

Hey, I can at least tell my wife how it makes way more sense than say the Orange 100 would have given the bang for the proverbial buck along with that amazing Rumble tone.

This process happened to me last year. I got the 500c. I love it and don't regret a thing. Since then I added a 410 cab and got a Rumble 25 for the bedroom. I'm ready for anything.

Sounds like the conversation they had at the marketing meeting when Fender was determining how to price the line.

So this past weekend I did a 3 city tour with some Irish Country stars who flew over to do the show. Used the new Rumble 500c and 115 cab with my old Precision bass with flats. It worked great. Got compliments from everyone in the band on the sound. They seemed to like my playing, too. ;-) A big thanks for the encouragement I got here as far as getting the rig. It was the right tool for the job. Had to do a lot of loading and unloading. The light weight of the pieces was a real life saver and the sound was just right.

I got the 200c two years ago and it's been a damn good reliable amp. I started a new job and my band has been picking up some outdoor gigs. So time to upgrade. Bought the 410 cab a month ago, liked the sound better than the 15 in my combo. Picked up the 500 head last week and put in an order for another 410. Which should be here in time for my rodeo gig this weekend. My bandmates are gonna hate me, lol.

You are going to love it. Another Rumble Club member bought that same rig a couple of years ago. He said his father could hear him practice a quarter of a mile away! :laugh:

OK, now I'm excited! I sold my ancient Peavey Bass 400 series amp with the 215 cabinet. 100 pounds of weight for the cabinet and 50 pounds for the head. Sort of hated to see it go since I still had the lifetime warranty on it. However, this evening I ordered a brand new Rumble 200 which will serve any purpose I need it for. And, it only weighs 35 pounds! Called Musician's Friend to see if the "Call and Save" coupon would apply. Sure enough, it got me 15% off. Now the waiting game for 4-7 business days....:bassist:
