Fender Rumble Club

Well...I guess it is time to join the club!!!

I must admit, I didn't see this one coming but when researching 12" cabs, I decided to give the Fender Rumble v3 112's a try. I was truly impressed...then...in a music store for a non bass gear related trip, I heard a player struggling through some playing/bass lines in the bass area but the tone really caught my ear...I wander over that way and glance down at a Fender Rumble v3 combo of some sort (maybe the 200w combo)...then once I saw/read how the Rumble heads fit snug/magnetically on the 112 cabs (and all the Rumble cabs I believe), I decided to give it a go and very happy I did so!!! She won't get a gig workout until next weekend and it will be a couple of different venues but I look forward to hearing this one live!!

*Sorry about the replacement knobs purists, I saw a video where a guy had swapped out the knobs and loved the look - so i did the same thing*

No need to apologize. It's your amp after all... If different style knobs do it for you go for it!

That is one Michael Rhodes, a session player out of Nashville. The bass must be a custom design. Fender Super Bassman sounds better than great. Here he is playing a Fender Precision. Joe is playing Albert King's lefty Gibson Flying V restrung righty and is the very guitar Albert wrote 'Born Under A Bad Sign'. Now if that isn't badass, I don't know what is.

So I'm thinking about this very set up. I believe you have a Rumble 500 head on top of 2 112 cabinets. I'd love to hear how it fares at gigs and rehearsals. And, I don't have the 500 head yet, but I already have the same knobs you put on your head...the closer to the blackface look the better for me!

Well, I guess it's time to give you a number, Welcome Rumbler #813. Those knobs look fine to me, and I like nothing better than nice looking knobs. Rumble on!

The blackface amps came out in mid-63 and were continued under CBS until mid-68 when they were replaced by the silverface style. In my very early playing days I used a blackface Dual Showman with the 215 cabinet and later a blackface Bassman with the large 212 cabinet. Both sounded great with my '67 Fender Jazz bass (sadly none of which I have any longer)!

Also, it might be beneficial to use the 1 megaohm input on the Rumble. I am using a Full Circle pickup.

Welcome Rumbler #814! I think straight to the amp rather than using the FX loop. I don't personally know of any reason to use to FX loop. I do know that using it means you have more cables to deal with. Rumble on!

Very interesting, however for that amount, I'm not sure I want to add a bass that, I suspect, would be something of a one-trick pony...if I had the collection of basses I had a few years ago, that would be another story...

OK I've got the day off, so it's time to do some Rumbling!
