I assume you’re using the ¼” output from the Tone Hammer? If so, are you using a balanced TRS cable or a just a regular unbalanced TS guitar cable?

Well that’s your problem. The main is for going in front of the amp. Use the 1/4” send to the amp return.
Doing it that way, I wouldn’t have any volume control. FX return on Rumble is post everything including master volume. FX send on Plex is where is should be, pre master volume.
I've checked in The Fender Jaguar Club and found that some bassists there have, indeed, experienced neck dive with some Jaguars, too. But it was relatively few, and certainly not a consensus for all. I respectfully agree to disagree on this matter.
Never had an Ampeg fail on me. But the common joke in the 70s was if you want to play a Marshall, you have to own 3. One you are playing, one as a backup for when the one you are playing fails, and one in the shop you will pick up when you take the one in that failed tonight.Probably got in the habit of carrying an identical backup when he played through Ampegs or Marshalls.

Just got home and tried using a TRS cable and that made all the difference. Much louder now. Got a gig tonight and plan on using my Plex into the Rumble this way. None of the amp’s controls function when using the FX return as an input so I just turn them all to 0.

The EL34 is a power tube found in Many tube amps, other common power tubes include EL84, 6550, 6L6, 6V6, the kt series. The EL34 has a reputation for short life when bias hot. Hence the need for 3 Marshall's

Just trying to reduce my ignorance. It's one of those things where I said to myself, "I should know that."
I think I would rather have the master volume be included in the FX send on the preamp, as the Rumble 500 is not the only amp with the FX return after the master. I think any amp where the FX loop is essentially preamp out/power amp in is going to be like this. Worst case scenario, you just leave the master on either the amp or pedal dimed.
I have the Trace Elliot Transit B preamp pedal which has both a gain and master, and the line out is after the master, thankfully, because the whole point of me having a preamp pedal is to go straight to the power amp.
The problem with where the master volume in the signal chain on the Rumble is it’s not really a master volume for the power amp. It is pre fx loop, DI, and aux in.
On the Plex preamp, the output is also after the master, but the fx send is pre master. I’ve found using a trs cable from the Plex’s output into the fx return on the Rumble solved the volume issue I was having. I control my overall volume using the Plex’s master volume now.
What do you think of that Mustang P/J? What is the neck like?

Also very happy with my Fender 800 Pro.
OTOH, I've had a MB500, MB800, and now a MB800 Fusion.
They are great little compact amps but none have the punch of an old style amp.
it's not so much the tone, but the weight of the note and the low frequency authority that won't EQ in.
Perhaps the modern class D amps have to give up some of the stout authority of my stupid heavy amps for light weight?

I have only played it for 10 minutes and I have very little experience, in general, to compare against. I only started playing bass 3 months ago with a Squier VM Jazz Fretless (which I really like and plan to keep). But, in general, I'm really liking this Mustang. Sounds a bit more punchy and powerful than my Jazz, which I attribute to better pickups, and the tone control has a wider range, which I attribute to better electronics. Also, the differences in pickups are much more noticeable, probably because the Jazz has dual J-pickups and the Mustang has a P/J configuration. The neck feels good, but I haven't had it professionally set up (neither the Jazz). I'll be out of town next week, so I might ask a bassist friend to set it up for me while I'm out.
Basically, I was looking to buy a second bass that was fretted, and originally wanted a Precision-style bass, but after trying an Epiphone EB-0 at a store I decided I wanted a short-scale. The EB-0 was cheap but didn't sound so good, so I became interested in the Squier Jaguar SS. However, after seeing a picture of the new orange Mustang in this thread (a few pages back), I fell in love with the color. A few days later, an online store in Mexico posts an add with that same bass in stock, and with a 6-month interest-free plan. Sold.
