Fender Rumble Club

Good Lord! Some of those boxes cost more than your Rumble! Just start a 'recommend me a dirt box' thread in the Effects sub-forum and take cover as all manner of little boxes are thrown at you from across the universe. I'll start.

Get this one! It's a little military green Ruskie! No I've never played through one, but so what, it's green! And Russian! And Big Muff! And Pi! Is cheap like borscht and vodka!

Love my Rumble 500 combo, but I'm after an OD pedal to stack with the built in drive section for the odd heavier part in my band, as I'm using the drive channel as an 'always-on' thing. Any recommendations out there?
I use a Tone Hammer and MXR DI+ with my Rumble stuff. Both add the dirt I need to get a sweet QOTSA/ Wolfmother tone. I use the MXR when we do Sabotage (Beastie Boys). Kills, with or without onboard OD. Both pedals are fairly cheap, but not straight up OD pedals. Good luck!

"It's very green, you know," he said in his best Ringo Star voice.

So, the wife got me a Rumble 200 for my birthday a few weeks back. Haven't been able to really crank it in my apartment, but even at low levels it has a nice full, thumping tone and seems to have a pretty wide range of tones (with presets and tone controls that are actually USEFUL!).

I was presently surprised with the overdrive channel. So much so I plugged in my Tele guitar and could not believe how good it sounded...very tube-like, warm & creamy (at least with 6-string guitar)!

Also love the new (classic) look - I had a tiny Rumble 15 for a bit and contemplated getting the 150 a few years back but could not get over the "Rumble" font or the "Fender" metal plate on the grille. I know, silly reason not to but I just didn't like the look (the sound itself was good, although these new amps sound a lot better - they seem to have more personality).

And I can't get over how light this thing is! I've been playing on and off a long time (mostly guitar) and I think my first practice amp in the late 80s, a tiny 25 watt Peavey, was heavier!!!

Only (very minor) issue for me is the silver grille cloth seems a bit more sparkly than it was on older Fender amps. :)
