Fender Rumble Club

I know, silly reason not to but I just didn't like the look (the sound itself was good, although these new amps sound a lot better - they seem to have more personality).

And I can't get over how light this thing is! I've been playing on and off a long time (mostly guitar) and I think my first practice amp in the late 80s, a tiny 25 watt Peavey, was heavier!!!

Only (very minor) issue for me is the silver grille cloth seems a bit more sparkly than it was on older Fender amps. :)

You have a great wife with good taste :thumbsup: my Rumble 200 is also on low levels, Gain on 3 & Master on 2 and vintage switch permanently on.

Wish me luck folks. About a year ago I swapped an old (cheap used) Hartke 250w combo with my Rumble 500c. (I play often in S. Fla - just friends, but I'm in a band up here in N. Georgia so I carted the Hartke down and brought the Rumble back). Haven't been back to S. Fla since, until tomorrow when I'm going down for a few days (airplane). I've gotten SO used to playing that Rumble, but now I'm going to have to run through the old Hartke again. I know Linnin's solution already. :) But alas I don't have the $, just the desire.

I am SO not looking forward to worrying about an amp again. Since I've been playing the Rumble, it's awesome to not even have to THINK about it. It just works. My bandmates are always farting around with their guitar amps and PA, but no one - least of all me - ever have to even think about the bass amp. It's just always there, doing it's little 2x10 job with the aplomb of an expert. I see thread after thread of discussion of this amp or that speaker combination and I just move on. No thanks, I'm good.

(I just need another for my 2nd home.)

If it wasn't such a weird word, they should rename it the Fender Aplomb. poise, self-assurance, self-confidence, calmness, composure, collectedness, levelheadedness, sangfroid, equilibrium, equanimity; informal unflappability

Yeah... no.

I guess I like the sparkly, I always have and was glad they went back to the classic look, not that the earlier versions were ugly or anything. The V3s really seem to have that Fender sound and having it come out of classic Fender looking cabs is perfect. For me anyway. Whatever happened to the grey cabinets with black cloth we saw a while back?
